BIG WIN and key losses

This past Sunday my team, the New York Jets beat their division and New York State rivals the Buffalo Bills. I was so happy to see the Jets beat the bills after hearing countless Bills fans talk about how great the Bills are and how bad they were going to beat the Jets and be in first place. Not only did the Bills lose, but also now technically if the season were to end today they would be in third in the division, losing a tie brake to the Jets and the Patriots.
The game was an overall pretty exciting game besides the lack of offensive touchdowns. The Jets did what I has mentioned on the last post and shut down Marshawn Lynch. He ran for probably the least amount of yards he has all season and it was big reason because of Chris Jenkins, the nose tackle for the Jets. Chris Jenkins also made some big plays on the quarterback Trent Edwards who had one of his weaker games as a pro.
The player who I believe had the biggest game was the cornerback for the Jets Darrel Revis. It is the second year of his career and this week’s game was his best ever. He had a sack, a fumble recovery, and key interception, which ended the game. But besides he stats he shut down Lee Evans all day, which is not an easy thing to do. Evans is one of the best receivers in the league and if he had gotten more involved in the game the Jets might have lost the game.
Although Brett Favre didn’t have a huge day he did what he had to do to help the Jets win the game. He did throw one interception but it really was not his fault because a bills player hit him as soon as he was about to throw which cause the throw to be short and hang in the air,

Jets vs. Bills

This weekend is probably one of, if not the biggest game of the year so far for the New York Jets. They will be playing their northern rivals the Buffalo Bills and if the jets win it will put them in tie with the bills, and possibly a tie with for first in the division. They will be playing in Buffalo, which is a disadvantage for the Jets but could be worse cause they are only really traveling and forty-five minutes by plane.
The biggest ting the Jets have to do to defeat the Bills is to stop the Bills running game and put pressure on their young quarterback. If the Jets can contain Marshawn Lynch and Trent Edwards they will have a good chance of winning the game. They will have to put constant pressure on Edwards and sack him a few times or he is going to sit in the picket and pick apart the Jets defense one pass at a time.
What the jets have to do offensively is not turn the ball over, which is sometimes a problem for the hall of fame quarterback Brett Favre. The Jets cannot give the Bills second chances to score or they will almost certainly lose. The Jets also have to establish the run and wear down the Bills defense so they can put up some big numbers. Most of all, if Brett Favre has a good game it will give the Jets the confidence to win.
I cannot wait for the game Sunday and I plan on coming out of Sunday with a tie for the divison lead and a huge win against or New York, and division rivals the Buffalo Bills. If the Jets lose I will probably have a bad Monday morning seeing all the Bills jerseys that all the students are wearing. Hopefully that does not happen.

Lifting

Ever since the beginning of this year I have been going to the weight room in Van Housen consistently at least three times week. On the first work out of the week I do my chest and my triceps. The reason for this is that a lot of chest exercises also use a lot of your triceps also. On the second day of the week I work out my back and my biceps. Then on the third day of the week I work out my legs and my shoulders.
By far my least favorite day of the week is the day that I work out my legs. I do not no why but there is something about it that just makes me dread even going, let alone working hard. It could be the fact that it is by far the most uncomfortable body party to exercise. Not uncomfortable in that my body is in weird positions but it’s just gets my legs so tired and sore it’s annoying to walk.
Another reason that I do not enjoy working out my legs is that even when you get stronger you really have nothing to show for it. People don’t see you after a few months and go “wow have you been working out your legs? They really look a lot bigger”. That just does not happen. I used to not mind working out my legs when I was playing sports in high school because I felt like there was an initiative for what I was doing. I wanted to get my legs as strong as possible so I could compete at the highest possible level. Now I feel like there is no real point for me to do them. I am not playing any competitive sports and in the past that was all I worked them out for.

Election

It is a little less then a month away from the upcoming presidential election and it seems as if everybody is more excited then ever. It seems like almost every class I have there is at least a brief discussion about the two candidates. Although many people have different opinions about the candidate’s one thing is for sure. EVERYBODY is happy so see Bush leave the Whitehouse.
George Bush has created more problems for our country then he actually fixed. I believe that there is no reason that we should still be in Iraq because there is nothing more that we can do. He is sending over soldiers for no reason and America is losing their young men for no reason.
Another reason that it may seem to be that this election is the most talked about is that it is going to be the first election that I am going to be able to vote in. Even though it is a right and a privilege to vote, and I plan on voting my self, after the 2000 election it makes me feel skeptical. The electoral college system is a great system but in the 2000 election I believe it failed. George Bush may have won the most votes in the electoral college but Al Gore won the popular vote. Isn’t the point of voting is for the majority of people to have what they chose? It is not fair that Al Gore did not win that year and hopefully nothing like that will happen in this election.
One thing that worries me if John McCain is elected president of the United States is that he is so old and if he passes away we will have Sarah Palin as president of the United States. Not saying that she is not qualified because she is a woman but the bottom line is going from being governor of Alaska to leading the country is a giant step.

South Park

One of the funniest but most controversial show on TV is South Park on comedy central. Despite being absolutely hilarious many people have a problem with many of things that are portrayed and said on the show. I happen to think that there is nothing wrong with it. If they were constantly making fun of one race or one group of people it would be offensive but they literally have an epsiode making fun of everything including themselves.
The new season just began last night and the first epsiode was pretty funny. It is so funny how they make fun of people because of the crazy ways they do it. ALthough the men who made South Park are a little nuts there show is hysterical and very clever. They expose all the problems in he world today and showing us that there needs to be some changes.

Entourage

In seventh grade when a couple of my friends would constantly talk about the HBO series "Entourage" I never reall thought much about until I actually watched. Right after the first episode I was instantly hooked. I watched every season to catch up with what I missed and have been watching all the way up to today.
This season so far has been the best season ever. Every episode has been hilarious and ends just making me wish i could fast forward to the next Sunday. My favorite character in the show in Ari. He is the funniest character on TV. The funniest thing on Entourage ever was when he bitch slapped the other agent.

October brake

Last year as a freshman I was pretty excited to be going home for the first time for October brake. This year is a differnt story though. It is not lke I am not excited to be going back home for a lil but not many of my friends are going to be home and I dont feel like leaving Cortland right now. This first month went by so fast I cannot beleive that October brake is already actually a week away.
One thing that I do not like about the October brake is that they plan parents weekend to be the next week after which I think is really stupid. Whats the point of having a brake where most of the kids on campus go home and then the week after having all their parents come back up. It makes no sense. October brake should be at the end of october or at leats a few weeks away from parent weekend.
